What is iconic about Sunken Island?

The island is referred to by various names, the Disappearing Island, The Sand Bar, and the Atlantis of Hawaii, or Ahu o Laka. As the tide goes out, the island becomes visible above the waters, offering a scenic picture spot being backdropped by the Ko’olau mountain range.
